Although the cement and minerals markets are being affected by the worldwide economic downturn, FLSmidth has a large backlog of orders, which reached record levels in the second half of 2008. Even more importantly, FLSmidth now has the largest after-market organisation in the industries. FLSmidth continues to maintain its commitment to a strong R&D budget to maintain its technological lead. All this means that FLSmidth is well-positioned to stay the course and emerge from the crisis stronger than ever.
